Andrew appears as DC Hayes in the final season of the celebrated Sally Wainwright BBC series; Happy Valley

Directed by Fergus O'Brien.

The six part drama commenced on 1st January 2023.  Andrew appears in Episodes 4 and 5.

Innocent

Who Killed Matty Taylor?

Andrew stars as John Taylor, in Chris Lang's second season of Innocent on ITV1. 

 

John, the beaten down father of the murdered schoolboy; Matty, is convinced that Sally (Katherine Kelly) is still guilty of murder, despite being acquitted.  John finds himself being one of the many suspects as DCI Braithwaite tries to solve the case.   

 

Directed by Tracey Larcombe and produced by Jeremy Gwilt.

The four part drama premiered on 17th May 2021 and played out across four consecutive nights.

Us and Them

October 2018

The film was released on VOD after much success on the festival circuit.  The film features music by the band; Sleaford Mods who worked with Andrew on the documentary Invisible Britain.  The film is about a gang of working class lads who kidnap a rich family to try and spark a revolution after years of Austerity in Britain.  Andrew appears as Tommy alongside; Jack Roth who plays Danny; the ring leader with Che Guevara aspirations.

The Good Soldier Schwejk

June-July 2017

Andrew returned to Sands Films to work with Director; Christine Edzard on her adaptation of Jaroslav Hasek's "The Good Soldier Schwejk".  

Andrew plays 5 characters in the piece from Captains to Corporals to Soldiers, working alongside; Alfie Stewart, Joe Armstrong, Kevin Brewer, Michael Mears, Sean Gilder, Michele Wade and Shona McWilliams.

The film is novel in that it was performed as a stage play to a live audience, who included Medea Benjamin and is now in post-production.

The film is about friendship, but also looks to highlight the prejudice and hate crimes which have noticeably been on the rise throughout the UK, especially against the Disabled Community.  The film will star; Jamie Beddard and Jason Williamson (Sleaford Mods)

Our Graham

March 2016

 

Andrew Produces and acts in the short film; Our Graham, directed by Jimmy Hedger.  

 

Simon Mason penned the script after the death of his close friend; Graham Darby.  The film looks at how the actions of the DWP and the cruel Atos Assessments have affected those most vulnerable in today's society. 

 

The soundtrack to the film is by Michael Head and the Red Elastic Band and the poignant stills were very kindly provided by local photographer; Roland Ramanan.

Sleaford Mods: Invisible Britain

October 2015

 

Andrew Produces and Narrates this Documentary which premiered at the Doc N Roll Film Festival in London.  The film highlights the draconian measures that the Government has forced upon on the unfortunate, forgotten and poor of modern day Britain.  With a electrifying soundtrack by one of the most important bands in the UK today; Sleaford Mods.  

 

The film was screened in Cinemas around the UK and was released on DVD at the end of November 2015.

Andrew has just been announced as the Executive Producer on the crowdfunded Documentary.

Not for them a slick upgrade to the fashionable indie hotspots simply because their album Divide and Exit was in the top ten lists of every other year-end round-up. Instead, the Nottingham duo will be visiting towns and cities that don’t even exist in the minds of anyone south of Barnet… the neglected, broken down and boarded up parts of the UK that most would prefer to ignore."

Code of a Killer

October- November 2014

 

Andrew is currently shooting; ITV & World Productions' "Code of a Killer" playing DS Geoff Taylor investigating a double murder in Leicester in the 80's.   

 

The crime drama is based on the true story of Alec Jeffreys' discovery of DNA fingerprinting and its use by Detective Chief Superintendent David Baker in bringing a double murderer to justice.   David Threlfall plays DCS David Baker, with John Simm as Alec Jeffreys.

 

James Strong (Broadchurch, United) directs, while the screenplay is written by Michael Crompton with input from Professor Sir Alec Jeffreys and former Detective Chief Superintendent David Baker.
